Migrate your VMs from the old vCenter, now 6.0, to your new 6.0 vCenter. ![]() Bring your 4.1 environment up to vSphere 5.5 by upgrading first your vCenters and then your hosts.ģ. This is how I would work out option 1, above:ġ. Migrate your VMs alone from your 4.1 environment to your 6.0 environment. Upgrade your 4.1 environment to something "compatible" with your 6.0 environment so you can more easily migrate between them, orĢ. There are perhaps two overarching methods to do this:ġ. ![]() Version 6 vCenters do not support vSphere 4.1 hosts, so you have one or a couple fewer options to do this. ![]() Interesting question! The answer used to be easier in regard to migrating from vSphere 4.1 to 5.x as 5.x vCenter servers would support 4.1 hosts, thereby providing a direct upgrade path.
